Honda ADV 160 vs PCX 160: compare Chiang Mai rentals

Updated October 2026 · RideLanna editorial team

Book a scooter

The ADV 160 and PCX 160 are separate scooter families with different layouts and styling. Choose between the actual rental offers, not a promise that one badge is best for every Chiang Mai journey.

Use the current listings below for photos and rates. This guide organises the comparison; it is not a road test of the individual scooters.

Compare the position and low-speed handling

Check the seat, handlebar reach and how comfortably you can support the scooter. Think about the ramp or parking area at your accommodation. Moving the machine with the engine off and turning in a confined area are useful questions to settle before committing to a larger-looking rental.

Do not infer a comfortable fit from an engine-size comparison. The model year, fitted equipment and your own experience affect the choice. Ask the shop to demonstrate the controls on the vehicle you will collect.

Keep styling separate from permitted use

An ADV’s adventure-oriented name does not authorise off-road use. A PCX listing does not establish that a mountain road is prohibited either. The shop’s written riding-area rules and its acceptance of your planned journey are what matter.

For a passenger or an overnight trip, discuss the actual load and luggage as well as the route. Agree breakdown support and who can approve a repair. Do not select either bike based on an assumption that the model family includes a touring package.

Check specification on the rental variant

If ABS, a particular key system, storage space or a phone holder matters, get a clear answer about the selected variant. Manufacturer specifications from a different year or country are not proof of equipment on the rental.

The ADV 160 may be recorded with its actual 157cc displacement. That does not make it an ADV 350; RideLanna’s model selections check both family and recorded capacity. Open the listing to confirm the details.

Compare complete rental quotes

Enter the same pickup and return dates for both offers. Compare the rental and options together, while keeping the refundable deposit and insurance excess separate. Review delivery and return collection independently.

For dates beyond a shop’s standard limit, request its price and availability by email through the quote flow. Wait for acceptance before collection. A live listing is an invitation to request, not an instant confirmation for every date range.

Good questions.
Clear answers.

Is an ADV 160 automatically better for mountain roads?

No. Your experience, the actual scooter, the route and the shop’s accepted use matter. The model name does not grant route permission.

Do all PCX and ADV rentals have ABS?

Do not assume so. Check the exact model year and variant on the offer and confirm important equipment with the shop.

Which has the lower deposit?

The deposit is set for each offer. Compare the displayed amounts and refund terms instead of assuming one model always costs less.
